Tony Mirenda is a member of Kitchell’s management team and serves as the Executive Director for the South Bay. Tony has been heavily involved in the public education market with nearly 30 years of experience using all phases of contract delivery including CM, CM-Multiple Prime, CM At-Risk, Design Build and Lease-Leaseback for over a dozen different Districts and a major student housing project at UC Santa Cruz. He also supports the company’s growth through his extensive network of relationships in the community.

Born and raised in Silicon Valley, Mirenda, 60, has spent his entire 40 year professional career there and has worked on and led many of Silicon Valley’s landmark construction projects including the seismic strengthening, repairs and renovations for several earthquake damaged historic buildings in San Jose most notably the Basilica St. Joseph Cathedral, the Old County Courthouse, 80 South Market Street, and Sacred Heart Church. A third-generation construction product, Mirenda began his construction career in 1982, after earning a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Santa Clara University. Shortly thereafter, he received both a California General Contractor’s license as well as his California Professional Civil Engineer’s license. He worked for the Carl N. Swenson Co. until 1987, when he joined TBI Construction. Mirenda helped build TBI and in 2004, he purchased the company. In 2012, Mirenda closed TBI and joined Blach Construction Company in San Jose along with several key accounts and employees to help create an even larger, more diversified, well respected and established construction company. Blach celebrates its 50th year of operation in 2020
